FITTING & MAINTAINING THE FLOORING

How do I fit the flooring?

All our products are DIY friendly.

For commercial premises we offer a fitting service the length and breadth of the UK.

Gym Tiles

We offer two gym tile ranges - Essential and Premium Connect.

Our Essential range is loose laid and only requires adhesive if laid in a small area. We recommend laying them in a staggered pattern as opposed to side by side to increase strength.

Our Premium Connect tiles are supplied with a unique interlocking system. Each tile has connection holes on the underside which connect together using interlocking clips, provided free of charge with the product.

All tiles are cut using a sharp stanley knife against a straight edge.

Turf

We recommend applying the The Rubber Floor Co.'s Turf to a clean, flat floor and recommend you level any irregularities in the subfloor prior to installation.

All our turf is latex backed and we recommend using double sided tape when fitting them to prevent sliding when in use; making them extremely easy to install, as well as easy to move elsewhere in the future if needed. A spray glue or adhesive will also work to provide a longer lasting fit.

Grid-X Garage Flooring

Each Grid-X tile has a male and female loop which connect together in place

How do I cut the gym tiles?

To cut the gymtiles you will need a straight edge and a sharp utility knife.

To best cut the flooring, measure the cut that you need and mark it on the tile with chalk or a white pen. Set a straight edge against your mark (we recommend a drywall ruler) and follow your line neatly with the first strike of your utility knife.

Simply repeat the striking of the knife through the mats until you have cut all the way through. We recommend having a number of spare replacement blades as they will dull quickly. A block of wood or similar underneath the mats will provide helpful leverage.

How do I clean the flooring?

You will get the most out of your flooring through regular cleaning and maintenance. Regular maintenance will keep your flooring clean and safe, and make your gym more attractive for yourself and/or any customers.

Cleaning the floor is as simple as sweeping or vacuuming it on a regular basis, with the frequency dependent on how often the space is used and for what purpose it is used.

We therefore recommend you carry out the following procedures to keep your floor as good as new:

1. Sweep with a hard bristle floor brush or vacuum to remove dust and loose debris;

2. Mop using warm water with a cup of white white vinegar or using a pH neutral detergent mixed with water.
